All-in-One Curriculum — Traditional — Hybrid — Christian
BJU Press, published by Bob Jones University, is one of the most academically respected Christian homeschool curricula available. Unlike Abeka's drill-focused approach, BJU Press emphasizes critical thinking and analytical reasoning within a Biblical framework. Students are taught not just what to think but how to evaluate ideas against Scripture.
The curriculum covers all subjects PK–12 with full-color textbooks, detailed teacher editions, and assessments. BJU Press Distance Learning (formerly HomeSat) provides video instruction for families who want teacher-led lessons. The online platform includes interactive features, automatic grading for some assignments, and a parent dashboard.
BJU Press science curriculum is particularly well-regarded for its depth and rigor. The high school courses are designed to prepare students for college-level work. The literature selections are thoughtfully chosen and the writing instruction builds progressively.
Pricing runs approximately $300–$600 per subject per year depending on grade level and whether you purchase video instruction. Full-grade packages are available at a discount. The curriculum is more expensive than Abeka when purchased subject-by-subject but offers strong academic preparation.
