Reading.com is a learn-to-read app built around one powerful idea: children learn to read faster and more effectively when a trusted adult sits alongside them. Each of the 110 lessons is fully scripted, so the parent knows exactly what to say and do without any special training or preparation.

The program follows a systematic phonics progression. Children start by learning individual letter sounds, then blend those sounds into words using interactive sliders, then read decodable digital storybooks that use only the patterns they have learned. Later lessons introduce long vowels, digraphs, sight words, and reading fluency practice.

What to Know

The app includes 67 interactive decodable storybooks, 42 letter-sound videos, 3 independent practice games, and printable offline activities. One subscription covers the whole family with up to 3 child profiles. Pricing runs approximately $6-12 per month depending on the plan.

Reading.com is not a full language arts curriculum. It covers phonics and early reading only, not handwriting, grammar, or writing. Most homeschool families use it as their phonics and reading component alongside a separate handwriting program and a writing curriculum. The co-play format makes it a natural fit for families who want screen time to be interactive and shared rather than passive and solo.
